Empathy

“Not all of the world’s problems will be solved with empathy, but not many of them will be solved without it”
– Dr Bruce Perry
Empathy is an essential component for respectful interactions. Increased understanding of empathy will help staff in their workplace interactions, and within their personal lives. Being happy at work is good for production.
Leading Research carried out by Warwick Business School stated:
"Happier workers, our research found, were 12% more productive. Unhappier workers were 10% less productive."
There are three main building blocks to developing empathy. This workshop will cover the three stages, how they are facilitated, when they occur, and what behaviours typically enable empathy development.
We will also cover the deficits that can occur if some of these stages are not successfully navigated. Understanding this process is empowering, as some people can reach adulthood without the empathy we ourselves would expect them to exhibit.
This understanding is especially important if you have to deal with
customers or anybody else who seem to lack empathy.
Interaction with the participants will determine the remaining content and direction.
This workshop is about participants gaining a clear and research-based understanding of empathy. The more participants take part, the more applicable the learning will be to your particular environment. So attendance will be enhanced if you bring along your enthusiasm for learning and an inquisitive mind.
